Arthur L. “Shorty” Swauger Sr.

Arthur L. “Shorty” Swauger Sr., passed away at Altercare of Coshocton on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2020.

Shorty was born in Tuscarawas County on Feb. 9, 1934 to the late George and Leotta (Zaroff) Swauger.

He worked at Larson Clay, Simonds Tools and was the owner operator of Swaugers Hauling. He loved spending time at the Senior Center and with all of his animals, especially his pug “Sissy.”

Shorty is survived by his four children, Arthur L. (Suzie) Swauger Jr. of Coshocton, Albert R. Swauger of New Philadelphia, Georgeana “Tink” (Joe Taylor) Miller of Coshocton and Brenda Swauger of Newcomerstown; grandchildren, Ashlee, Brenda Lee, Dave, Amy and Bobbi (Jimmy); great grandchildren David, Mia, Jaymz, Brayden, Trinity and Ceegan; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria J. Swauger; brother, Bill Swauger; sister, Ella Mae Korinko; and niece, Jennifer McGonagle.

Per Shorty’s wishes, a cremation will take place and a family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
