Bernadine A. McKnight

Bernadine A. McKnight, 80, of West Lafayette passed away at her home on Tuesday August 25, 2020.

Bernadine was born in Coshocton on August 30, 1939 to the late Emmett and Mildred (Ross) Freetage.  She was a nurse’s aide throughout her life and worked with West Lafayette EMS for numerous years.  Bernadine also owned and operated a grocery store and pizza shop in West Lafayette.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Julie McKnight of Mt. Hope, Jamie (Theresa) McKnight of Warsaw, John (Christie) McKnight of Kimbolton and Kelly Cutshall of West Lafayette; grandchildren Justin (Shawna) McKnight, Amber (Marty) Jenkins, Cody (Amber) McKnight, Mindy McKnight, Kylie (Rusty) Baker, Brandon (Candice) Waggoner, Jonathan (Makaya) McKnight and Connor Cutshall; 13 great grandchildren; siblings Karen (Wayne) Patterson of West Lafayette, Hilma Wright of West Lafayette, Monajean Prater of West Lafayette and Jerry (Kim) Freetage of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Minnie Matthews, Bertha Haines, Judy Jacobs, Daryl and Dale Freetage.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Friday August 28, 2020 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM where funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Randy Mullins officiating. Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette.

Due to Covid-19, we are requiring visitors coming to the funeral home to wear their own face masks and we will be limiting the number of attendees inside the building.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Community Hospice, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
