Big Prairie man dies in State Route 83 accident

On Sept. 1, 2020 at approximately 2 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a 911 call in reference to a two vehicle accident with injuries on SR.83 about two miles south of Clark.

Upon arrival of emergency personnel, it was determined that Grant A. Eberly (29) from Wooster, was traveling northbound on SR.83. The vehicle he was driving was a 2006 Kenworth Dump truck with a trailer and back hoe on it. A Jason D. Shultz (42) from Big Prairie, was traveling southbound on SR 83 in a 2004 Chevy 2500. The trailer on the dump truck came off and went left of center striking Shultz’s vehicle.

Shultz was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Coshocton County Corner.

Assisting at the scene was Walhonding Valley Fire Department, Coshocton County EMS, REACT and Princes Wrecker Service.

This incident remains under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
