Celebrity waiter dinner returns to raise funds

| March 18, 2013

COSHOCTON – There is a new crew of waiters ready to serve and entertain attendees of the 2013 Celebrity Waiter Dinner.

“We only have one returning waitress, which is Jesse Marcincavage so we are going to switch things up this year and have a whole new crowd,” said Rick Williamson from RD Promotions, which organizes the event. “It should be fun.”

The Celebrity Waiter Dinner will be held Friday, March 22, at the Coshocton Elks. Happy hour begins at 6:30 p.m. and dinner is served at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $20 for singles and $35 for couples and profits from the event are donated to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

“We raised a lot of money last year and awareness for the hospital,” Williamson said.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital, received about $2,500 from the group last year.

“Almost everyone involved with RD Promotions has worked in the medical field or has family who has utilized the hospital’s services,” Williamson said. “Also when researching an organization to donate funds to we discovered that 100 percent of donations to them goes right back out to the patients. They don’t use any of that money to fund the foundation.”

The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation uses donations to assist families who find themselves in the emergency room, having to use the Ronald McDonald house or in need of gas money to help them get back and forth for visits to the hospital. It also assists with cancer research.

“Our little bit adds up in what it can do,” Williamson said.

Raffles of great prizes from local businesses and Ohio attractions and a 50-50 drawing also will help raise funds.  Attendees also get to sing karaoke, dance and use funny money to get their waiters and waitresses to complete dares or requests.

“It’s going to be a great night and I hope to see a lot of people out,” Williamson said.

Tickets for the event can be purchased from the following confirmed celebrities: Jesse Tubbs, Rob McMasters, Mike Cichon, Rachel Staron, Rachel Hall, Marcincavage and Chris Wilson or at Simple Signs, 218 Sycamore St.,622-0775.

“We pretty much sold out last year,” Williamson said. “Those who attended last year loved it and people are already contacting us asking who the waiters are going to be this year.”
