COSHOCTON – Coshocton High School Senior Talon Babcock signed his letter of intent on Tuesday, May 17, to play Division III baseball at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Babcock, who has been playing baseball ever since he was a young boy, is greatly looking forward to joining the team.

After looking at other schools such as Ohio Dominican University and Bluffton University, he ultimately concluded that his heart was set on Ohio Wesleyan.

“I’d say that the determining factor would have to have been meeting the coach on my visit, when I met with him and the staff they were all very nice and seemed to know what they were talking about,” said Babcock.

According to him, he hasn’t gotten to this point all by himself; he’s had some help along the way.

“One person that has greatly helped me get to where I am today would have to be my summer travel ball coach Randy Abrams. I’ve been playing for him since I was about 10-years-old so he’s been a mentor for me for the past eight years and he’s been a really big part of my life,” said Babcock.

While at college, Babcock intends to major in psychology while also aiming to prove just what he’s capable of on the baseball diamond as well.
