Bowman PictureWEST LAFAYETTE – David R. Bowman, 80, of West Lafayette passed away Thursday September 24, 2015 at home surrounded by family.

He was born in Coshocton on August 5, 1935 to the late David J. Bowman and Geneva (Turnbull) Bowman Dovenbarger.

He was a graduate of Keene High School and he served in the United States Army. After the Army he was a Telegrapher for many years and was the owner of Close Inn, Downtown Tavern, and Hilltop Raceway.

David is survived by his children Tammy (Jack) Pew of Newcomerstown, Steve (Lori) Bowman of DeGraff, OH, Shannon Powell of West Lafayette, and Shauna (Joseph) Knighten of West Lafayette; grandchildren Caleb Bowman, Chloe and Corbin Knighten, Blake and Brock Powell, Jayce Blake, Jalyn Tumblin, Jermey Lynch, Jennifer (Billy) Maple, Lindsay Stone, Stephen (Carley Bushman) Bowman Jr., Shyanne (Chad) Carroll, Paige Bowman; Eleven great-grandchildren; and step-sister Shelia (Richard) Bradshaw.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his step-father James Dovenbarger.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home 639 Main St., Coshocton on Tuesday September 29, 2015 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM where funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. Interment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery where the Coshocton County Veterans Council will be performing military honors. An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com.
