Elaine Fender

DRESDEN – Ruth Elaine Fender, 90, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017 at her residence.

She was born Nov. 20, 1926 in Cambridge to the late John Darrell and Margaret Elizabeth (Woods) Groves. She was a 1944 graduate of Warsaw High School. She married Paul R. “Mike” Fender on Nov. 28, 1947, who preceded her in death on June 12, 1967. She was a retail clerk at the former O’Neil’s department store in Coshocton.

She is survived by five children, Steven Russell (Betty) Fender of Fresno, Jeffery Lynn Fender of Warsaw, Kerry Michael (Debra) Fender of Coshocton, Lisa E. (Cecil A.) Davis of Coshocton, and Gregory Darrell Fender of Dresden; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna (Marvin) Haines and Maxine Underwood; and a brother, Larry (Ruby) Groves.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, James, and Byron “Guy” Groves.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017 at Valley View Cemetery near Warsaw, with Pastor Ron Davis officiating.  The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
