Elizabeth Bertha Miller

COSHOCTON – Elizabeth Bertha Miller, 96, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018.

Libbie was born November 19, 1921 in Oakdale, PA to Ignatz and Bertha Tarap. One of eleven children, she was blessed with a rich childhood and was always proud to celebrate her Hungarian heritage. Along with her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Glenn D. Miller. She was retired from the Coshocton City Schools where she was a cashier and cook for 21 years. She also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Pittsburgh, PA during the WW II to help fill vacancies left by the many young men who were called to war. She often recalled one of the greatest thrills of her life when, while at work, she had the honor of meeting Eleanor Roosevelt. Libbie was a member of the Presbyterian Church since 1958 and enjoyed many years of friendship, fellowship and service to the church. She was also a longtime member of the Canal Quilters and a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Bill) Honabarger of Lancaster, OH; grandchildren John of Columbus, OH and Darcie (Jon) Oemcke of Birmingham, MI; great-grandchildren, Bella, Ellie, Dawson, Sophie and Virginia and great-great-grandchildren, Elena. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her family was the greatest joy of her life.

Friends may call at the Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 1-3pm. A memorial Service will follow at 3pm with Rev. Jonathan Carlisle officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in McDonald, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials contribution may be made to the Presbyterian Church or the Salvation Army of Coshocton.
