Ethel A. Brenly

Brenly, EthelEthel Arlene Brenly, 90, of Millersburg joined her beloved husband John in Heaven at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg.

Born February 24, 1922 in Holmes County, she was the daughter of the late Russell Fredrick and Grace (Carillon) Mencer.

A 1940 graduate of Millersburg High School, she had been employed for a short period at the former Baltic Plastic Rubber Company.  A devoted homemaker, her family was important to her.  She will be remembered as an avid sports fan.

On May 29, 1940 she married John Adam Brenly who preceded her in death on October 26, 1997.

Loving family members include a son James A. (Joyce) Brenly of Annandale, NJ; six grandchildren Jade L. (Susan) Brenly of Millersburg, Tara (Sky) Peters of King George, VA, Johnny J. (Pam) Brenly of Coshocton, Justin T. Brenly of Annandale, NJ, Lance E. (Kim) Brenly of Coshocton, Ian J. (Sarah) Brenly of Lebanon, NJ; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Joy Lee Mencer of Hopedale; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, Ethel was preceded in death by a son Larry Lee Brenly and two brothers Eldon and Robert Mencer.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at the Free Funeral Home, Coshocton with Evangelist Lloyd Tenney officiating.  Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.

Calling hours will be held from 12 Noon to 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, prior to the funeral service at Free Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memoriums may be made to the Ethel A. Brenly Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 961, Coshocton, OH  43812.  Envelopes are available at Free Funeral Home.
