Eugene D. “Gene” Lautenschleger

COSHOCTON – Eugene D. “Gene” Lautenschleger, 77, of Coshocton passed away at Coshocton Regional Medical Center Emergency Room on Friday October 12, 2018.

Gene was born in Coshocton County, Ohio to the late Alton and Mildred (Herman) Lautenschleger on September 25, 1941.  He graduated from Keene High School in 1960 and served in the Ohio National Guard.  Gene retired after being the owner operator of Gene’s Auto Glass in Coshocton.  He was also a member of New Bedford Church of Christ, life member of the Coshocton Elks Lodge, Moose and V.F.W..  Gene enjoyed spending time at the Coshocton Sportsman Club, Garden Tractor Pulling and was an avid collector of classic cars.

He is survived by his brother Owen Lautenschleger of Canal Fulton; special friend and caregiver Joyce Holliday of Coshocton; one niece; one nephew; cousins and other family members.

Along with his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his wife Marianne Lautenschleger who passed away on January 6, 2015 and a nephew Mike Lautenschleger.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Monday October 15, 2018 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.  Funeral services for Gene will begin at 3:00 PM on Tuesday with Pastor Bill Jones and Heath Hayes officiating.  Entombment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Community Hospice of Coshocton, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com .
