Dickerson002COOPERDALE- Harold Leroy Dickerson, 84, of TR 428, died Friday Jan. 24, 2014 at his daughter’s residence in Canal Lewisville.

He was born July 31, 1929 in Cooperdale to the late Joseph Leroy and Emma Mae (King) Dickerson.  He married Patricia E. (Everhart) Dickerson on June 15, 1951, who preceded him in death on April 26, 2012.  He was an avid coon, deer, and mushroom hunter and he loved to farm.  He was a member of the Coshocton Eagles Aerie #761.

He is survived by three sons; Robert (Gayle) Dickerson of Warsaw, Kenneth (Laura) Dickerson, and Todd (Jeannie) Dickerson, both of Cooperdale, a daughter, Joy (Dave) Smith of Canal Lewisville, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, a brother, Robert Dickerson of West Carlisle, a sister, Mildred Smyers of Frazeysburg,  four sisters-in-law; Donna (Jerry) Longaberger of Dresden, and Barb (Don) Stingel, Lois Cornelious, & Mary Fitzgerald, all of Coshocton, a brother-in-law, David (Sally) Everhart of Coshocton, and his faithful companion, “Dixie”.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia Kay Dickerson, two granddaughters, and one grandson.

Funeral services, with military rites performed by the Coshocton County Joint Veterans Council, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday Jan. 29, 2014 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Joel Mason officiating.  Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.  Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
