Hollie Schwab scores first career goal for Lady Generals

WEST LAFAYETTE – In girls soccer from Harrison North Elementary in Scio, Harrison Central defeated Ridgewood 3-2.

Spencer Blumenschein gave the Huskies an early lead with a goal 3:00 minutes into the match.

Hollie Schwab scored her first career goal on a Lady Generals penalty kick at the 31:10 mark.

Ashley Mencer got the lead back for Harrison Central at 21:20 on a pass from Alexis Yoho.

The score remained 2-1 at the half.

Audrey Leciere made it 3-1 Harrison Central with a goal at 35:30.

Schwab scored again on a second penalty kick with 8:40 to go to pull Ridgewood within one.

The Lady Generals nearly tied the game with four minutes to go when a Colleen Schwartz shot hit the post.

Huskie goalkeeper Marian Kuryn also made a big save in the final 10 seconds following a Ridgewood corner kick served into the box. Kuryn finished with nine saves while Ridgewood’s Karrie Bluck had 14.

Harrison Central held a 22-20 advantage in shots.

Ridgewood returns home to play Morgan on Monday.
