Huff to feature art at West Lafayette Branch Library

| April 3, 2017

WEST LAFAYETTE – Area resident Jim Huff will be the featured artist for the month of April at the West Lafayette Branch Library. His working medium is oil on canvas with abstract themes as well as realistic renderings of landscapes.

Though primarily self-taught, Huff values the instruction he received from Twila Christner from the Tuscarawas Center for the Arts, who taught him how to paint with oils and showed him the basic elements of composition when he attended a few classes there. He says that when he paints, the cares of life just seem to roll away, and he finds the act of creating pleasing images to have a therapeutic effect and encourages a feeling of peace of mind for him.

Viewers have had several opportunities to enjoy his body of work at different showings in several venues over the years and his style is continuously evolving.

Stop by the West Lafayette Library during the month of April to view the exhibit. Branch hours of operation are Monday – Wednesday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Thursday – Friday noon to 5 p.m.; and Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
