James Clyde Jones

James Clyde “Jim” Jones, 82, of Coshocton went to be with his beloved wife Gloria on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Community House Hospice in New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Born July 11, 1931 in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Clyde Ray and Nina (Creighton) Jones.

Retiring in 1992, Jim had been a machine tender at Stone Container for thirty-three years.  He will always be remembered as a dedicated husband, dad, grandpa and brother to all his family members.  He was a member of the 1800 Street Church of Christ and was a former member of the Coshocton Sportman’s Club.

On July 27, 1951, he married Gloria Oleen Williams who preceded him in death on July 10, 2013.

He truly will be missed by his son James Craig “Jimmy” Jones of Coshocton; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters Marla R. Cummings of Coshocton, Nancy C. (Larry) Layman of Mt. Vernon; sister-in-law Yvonne Jones of Elida, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Jim was preceded in death by four daughters Gail O. Bemiller, Gina Montgomery, Janielle Jones, Jeri Requarth; two brothers Terrance K. “Terry” and Jackie C. Jones.

Calling hours will be held  at  Free Funeral Home on Friday, March 21, 2014, from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon with a funeral service beginning at 12 Noon with Tim Hatfield, Minister  officiating.  Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
