Nelson001Coshocton – James W. Nelson, 81, of CR 27, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at the OSU James Cancer Hospital on his 61st wedding anniversary.

He was born in Coshocton on August 2, 1932 to Herbert and Mary (Wilson) Nelson. He attended Coshocton High School, and graduated while in the U.S. Army, where he served from 1953-1954 during the Korean Conflict. He married Sally Y. McKee on June 9, of 1953.

Jim retired from GE after 40 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 1330, and the Eagles #761. “Mr. Fix It” was an avid billiard player, and also played cards, but most importantly, loved all things family.

He is survived by his wife, Sally Nelson, sons; Steve (Beth) Nelson of Coshocton, Mark (Leslie) Nelson of Warsaw, a daughter, Marcia (David) Williamson of Warsaw, grandchildren; Justin (Lindsey) Nelson, Alex Nelson, Paige (Dustin) Comston, and Elaine Umscott, and 2 great grandchildren; Kristyn and Kileigh Comston,

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kathy Jo Nelson, and a brother, Junior Nelson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday June 13, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Rev. Dail Parrish will officiate. There will be no burial. Calling hours will be from 5-7 on Thursday and prior to the service Friday.
