Local Bounty update

| November 14, 2013

Here are some updates from our vendors. A new batch of lamb is in and cabbage arrives on Friday…but stop in today and see what kind of goodies await you!

Hall – RB – Hill

This week has been a chilly one up on Hall-RB-Hill! I warmed up the kitchen by baking some delicious buttery Swiss Braid. I will also have Little French Loaves. Also just in time for Thanksgiving I have some lovely Pull Apart Dinner Rolls! Stay cozy everyone and thank you for shopping local.

Carson House Farm – the Lozowskis

We have a fresh supply of lamb products available this week, including plenty of the popular ground lamb. Check out the leg of lamb which are smaller cuts now. These lambs are 100 percent grass fed, they received no grain. As always we use no hormones or antibiotics. The gardens are otherwise put to bed (pun intended) for the winter. Carson House Farm as always naturally grown and raised.

Keene Creek Farm

We are picking some salad greens from inside the hoop house this morning and will have them to the market later today or tomorrow morning. What a treat fresh lettuce is in mid-November. We purchased five more young pigs yesterday, bringing the total on the farm up to 12 (10 we’re fattening up so to speak and two are gilts we’re going to breed in the weeks to come). We’re hoping having this many will mean our freezer will have a more consistent selection of your favorite pork cuts.

Kempf Acres

Lots of green Savoy cabbage will be in the market Friday. Adrian’s produce is naturally grown in northern Coshocton County. Also, check out our roasting garlic, what a treat for the taste buds when cooked.

Thanksgiving Week Hours

We will be open the Wednesday before Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) from 2 to 6 p.m. only. Our market will be closed Thursday, but then resume normal hours for Friday and Saturday. It isn’t too late to contact our vendors if you’d like to order any food items for your Thanksgiving feast.
