Martha M. Arnold

Arnold, MarthaZANESVILLE- Martha M. (Ward) Arnold, 97, stepped over the threshold into eternity on February 17, 2016 with her family by her side.

Born in Coshocton County on May 14, 1918 to the late Fred and Eva (Chrislip) Ward, she was a homemaker after her son was born.  A meticulous housekeeper, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and socializing with family and friends. She and her husband were members of the North Terrace Church of Christ in Zanesville.  She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1937, and attended the Helmick Baptist Church, where she met her husband-to-be, Grover Arnold Jr.  They celebrated 74 years of marriage on December 28, 2015.

Also surviving are her devoted grandchildren, Heidi L. Arnold of Dayton, Eric S. (Jodi) Arnold of Nashport, and Heather (Bryan) Near of Zanesville. Her great grandchildren, Evan and Emma Arnold and Isabelle Near, will carry her memories into the next generation.  Additional survivors include two caring daughters-in-law, Mary Arnold and Sharon Mozena, both of Zanesville.  She was also cared for and loved by many special in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry E. Arnold, her sister, Willaw Guthrie, and her brother, Wayne Ward.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with the Rev. Bill Meaige officiating.  Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery.  Visitation is from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
