Muskingum University to have informational session for teachers at Career Center

| November 25, 2015

NEW CONCORD – Muskingum University will be offering an accelerated, innovative Intervention Specialist licensure program (Jumpstart) in three Ohio locations this summer: Canton, Columbus and on campus in New Concord. An information session for teachers will be Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Coshocton County Career Center at 23640 Airport Road, Coshocton.

The seven-week program which begins in June is open to both initial and advanced licensed teachers. Any additional coursework required to complete the program will be available online. The hours earned in Jumpstart can be applied toward a master’s degree with only four additional courses available online.

“Candidates who have completed Jumpstart have found outstanding job opportunities in a strong, expanding teaching market,” said Nancy Bradley, Director of Graduate and Continuing Studies for Educator Preparation. She stated that Jumpstart is an ideal “next step” for paraprofessionals to become licensed teachers. With their classroom experience, they can become very effective teachers by adding the license.

For additional information about Jumpstart and other programs, contact Nancy Bradley at 740-826-8038 or email at [email protected]. Visit www.muskingum.edu for a complete listing of education programs.
