Members of the Write-on-Writers group met last night, Monday, May 6 at the Pomerene Center for the Arts to read some of their original work focused on the Dogwood Festival theme, ‘There’s No Place Like Home’. Pictured here is the oldest member of the group, Wilma Meek, who read an original composition on a memory she had about her home as a young woman. Other members of the group also read their work on the subject. One member, Sharon Mooney, is currently working on publishing her poems in a small book entitled, ‘Visiting the Relatives’ and she shared a few of her poems from her book in progress last night having to do with the sights and feelings of home.
