Presbyterian Church to observe Christ the King Sunday

| November 21, 2019

COSHOCTON – The Presbyterian Church, North Fourth and Chestnut Streets, Coshocton, will observe Christ the King Sunday on Sunday, Nov. 24. Worship will begin at 10:30 a.m.

At the conclusion of the Christian year, the church gives thanks and praise for the sovereignty of Christ, Lord of creation, who will come again in glory to reign. The celebration of the lordship of Christ looks back to Christmas, the ministry of Jesus, the betrayal and passion, the resurrection, and the coming of the Spirit on Pentecost. The festival of Christ the King ends ordinary time after Pentecost, and moves us to the threshold of Advent, the season of hope for Christ’s coming again at the end of time. The story will be told and experienced in carols, hymns, anthems, and readings from scripture.

Musical leadership will be provided by the Cherub Choir, led by Sharon V. Sutton and accompanied by Pastor Karen Crawford; the Carol Choir, led by April King and accompanied by Lukas A. Sycks; the Chancel Choir, led by Charles R. Snyder; soloist Matthew P. Downing; and Joan Kason, horn. The Crusaders Choir will also participate.  Alice M. Hoover will be the organist.

All are invited to join in this celebration. Preschool childcare will be provided, and ample parking is available.
