River View Board meets

WARSAW – The River View Board of Education met in regular session on Sept. 12.

The following items were approved:

  • Approved the donation of a swing set from Keene Elementary PTO to River View Local School District for the playground at Keene Elementary
  • Approved the recommendation for home instruction for a fourth grade student at Conesville Elementary, effective 22, and last indefinitely, Miss Mary Bell will be home instructor.
  • Approved the recommendation for home instruction for a fifth grade student at Warsaw Elementary, effective 22, and last indefinitely, Miss Ashley Storms will be home instructor.
  • Approved the following proposal from Dawn Anglin, choir director: Travel to Cleveland’s Playhouse Square on Friday, 29, with high school choir members
  • Approved the recommendation to make an exception to the board policy and allow a sixth foreign exchange student to attend RVHS for the 2019 – 2020 school year, Seohyeon Lim from South Korea, host family will be Kara Pyle and Kory Parks.
  • Approved the recommendation of the following coaching positions for the 2019 – 2020 school year: Head Boys Track – Dennis Wilson; Asst. Boys Track – Doug Boals; Junior High Track – Nick Shaw; Junior High Wrestling – Braiden Davis; Junior High Vol. Wrestling – Rann Zimmer
  • Approved the recommendation to hire Melissa Greenwood as paraprofessional at Keene Elementary School for the 2019 – 2020 school (pending the completion of all necessary paperwork, background checks and licensures)
  • Approved the recommendation to hire Haylee Babcock as paraprofessional at Keene Elementary School for the 2019 – 2020 school (pending the completion of all necessary paperwork, background checks and licensures)
  • Approved the resignation of Sally Bell, cook at River View High School, effective 20
  • Approved the recommendation of Darby Croft as high school color guard advisor for the 2019 – 2020 school
  • Approved the recommendation of Deborah English as a volunteer at Keene Elementary for Math instruction to accelerated gifted students in sixth (pending the completion of all necessary paperwork, background checks and licensures)
  • Approved the recommendation of Mia Gray, high school paraprofessional, for the 2019 – 2020 school year effective 16, 2019.
  • Approved the recommendation to transfer Michelle Lauvray from high school paraprofessional to high school cook position, 5 ¾ hours a day, five days a
  • Approved the recommendation to increase Warsaw head cook, Brenda Bush’s hours from 7 hours per day to 8 hours per day, effective 16.
  • Approved the recommendation to hire Jennifer Terry, one on one paraprofessional at Coshocton County Career Center for the remainder of the 2019 – 2020 school year, 5 ¾ hours per day, five days a week, effective 16. (pending the completion of all necessary paperwork, background checks and licensures)
  • Approved the recommendation of Lindsay Lupher as eighth grade girls basketball coach for the 2019 – 2020.
