Roy Monroe Williamson, age 77, of West Lafayette, passed away, Saturday, September 28, 2019 in his home. He was born on April 6, 1942 in Guyan, WV to the late Garland and Lona (Marcum) Williamson. On April 2, 1967, he married Barbara (Gress) Williamson, who survives. Roy was a machinist at Yankee Wire Cloth Products, and a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp, having served two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church and a past Exalted Ruler of the Elk’s. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his free time. Roy’s family was his life; he loved his wife, sons and grandchildren. He had a beloved dog named Buddy that was his sidekick.

Along with his wife, Roy is survived by his sons, Roy Matthew (Kerrie) Williamson of Painesville and Brian Michael (Lisa) Williamson of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Michaella Lynn, Melissa Lynn, Joan Renee, Joshua Matthew, Brian Mitchell and Holden Monroe; siblings, Billie (Bonnie) Williamson, James Williamson and Helen (Virgil) Perry; sisters-in-law, Charlene Williamson and Margie Williamson; along with several nieces and nephews.

Roy is preceded in death by his siblings, Garland Williamson Jr., Glenn Williamson and Juanita Evans.

Calling hours will be held at the Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 4pm to 7pm and one hour prior to the memorial service. Military Honors were conducted by the Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard at 6:45pm. The memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 11am with Pastor Matt Anderson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University hospital, West Lafayette United Methodist Church and the Coshocton Animal Shelter.
