RVHS swimmers have busy weekend

WARSAW – The Black Bear swimmers had a very busy weekend, competing in three meets in four days.

Friday they competed in the ECOL championship. The boys finished third and the girls fourth. The boys 200 free relay team of Brendan Dickson, Andy Smith, Nate Cooper and Dalton Hammond broke the school record with a time of 1:46:82. First place finishers include Lydia Els in the 200 free and the 100 backstroke. Finishing second was Dickson in the 50 free and Hammond was third in the 100 free.

Saturday the girls finished sixth and the boys finished third out of 13 teams at New Albany High School. The boys medley relay and 200 free relay of Dickson, Smith,Cooper and Hammond took top spots. Dickson placed first in 50 free and Nate Cooper took first in the 100 backstroke. Els placed second in the 100 butterfly and third in the 100 free.

On Monday the teams placed fourth for boys and sixth for girls. They are home tonight (Jan. 21) at 6 p.m.
