Second round of emergency relief grants awarded

The United Way of Coshocton board has set up an emergency relief fund to assist other non-profit organizations lending aid to victims of the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Second round applications were due May 1 and a sub-committee of the United Way board decided to distribute $15,550 to these local programs:

  • Hopewell School family supports
  • Martha’s Cupboard hygiene and cleaning supplies
  • Maternal and Child Health personal protection equipment and added supplies
  • Red Cross blood services
  • Senior Center food and prescription support
  • First Step supplies for shelter
  • River View Schools food distribution

Contributions received thus far from local foundations and corporations include the United Way of Coshocton, Coshocton Foundation Johnston Fund, the Simpson Family Foundation, Schooler Foundation, Buckeye Brine, Century National Bank, McWane Foundation and more than 30 individuals.

If you wish to contribute to the fund, you can send a check payable to the United Way with emergency fund on the memo line. Address is P.O. Box 84, Coshocton, OH 43812. You can also donate through the www.coshoctonunitedway.org website, click on the GIVE tab on the home page and be sure to indicate “emergency fund” in the Additional Information box.

A third round of applications will be accepted and due June 1. The application can be accessed through the website as well or you can request one via email to: [email protected].

2-1-1 has been re-established for Coshocton, so individuals with questions concerning the pandemic can call 2-1-1. If that number does not work, you can call 1-844-318-3909.
