Coshocton

 Lady Redskins beat Philo

The Coshocton Redskins volleyball team picked up a Muskingum Valley League victory over the visiting Philo Electrics. Scores of the match were: 22-25, 25-15, 25-18, and 25-19.

Jalynn West paced the offense with 41 assists distributed among several Redskin attackers.

Hailey Helter led the team with 13 kills, while Kindall Shaw added 11, Belle Miller had nine, and Lindsay Bryant chipped in eight. Defensively, Miyah Davis dug up 30 Philo attacks with Shaw adding 19. At the service line, West served up three aces.

In the JV contest, the host Redskins fell in a tough three-set match by the scores of: 25-12, 21-25, and 19-25.

Savanna Bartlett slammed eight kills for Coshocton while Addy Gordon added seven. Mikayla Custer served up five aces.

The Lady Redskins then fell to River View by the scores of: 23-25, 25-21, 22-25, and 15-25.

The Redskins were led on offense by Kindall Shaw’s 15 kills, while Lindsay Bryant added nine and Hailey Helter added seven. Jalynn West set up the offense with 36 assists.

Defensively, Miyah Davis led the way as she dug up 28 Black Bear attacks. Kindall Shaw contributed 19 digs and Hailey Helter added 15. At the service line, both Jalynn West and Ella Bible each served up four aces.

In the JV contest, it was Coshocton pulling out a thrilling three-set victory by the scores of: 26-24, 18-25, and 25-22.

Savanna Bartlett led the offense with nine kills while Alison Cox added seven. Cox was also the leader at the service line with two aces.

At Crooksville, the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team picked up a Muskingum Valley League win with a straight-sets victory over the Ceramics. Scores were: 25-9, 25-12, and 28-26.

Leading the way for Coshocton was Hailey Helter who pounded 12 kills and dug up 21 Crooksville attacks.

Other offensive leaders were Lindsay Bryant with 10 kills and Kindall Shaw with seven kills and four service aces.

Matching Helter defensively was Miyah Davis who also recorded 21 digs, while Shaw chipped in with eight. Jalynn West assisted on 29 Redskin kills.

In the JV contest it was Coshocton topping Crooksville by the scores of: 25-11 and 25-17.

Jaiden Arnold recorded four aces and four kills. Destiny Danielek added three kills and Addy Gordon chipped in with two kills and two service aces.

Ridgewood

 Zimmer leads RHS golf team

Ridgewood’s girls golf team played in the Eastern District Division II Girls Sectional on Sept. 29, at Carroll Meadows Golf Course in Carrollton.

Lexi Zimmer scored a 79, Julia Geer had a 136, and Shannon Cassidy had a 148. Zimmer will move on to the Eastern District as an individual.

 RHS defeats TCC

Ridgewood defeated TCC by scores of 25-15, 23-25, 25-27, 25-19, and 15-12.

Stats were: Madisyn Colvin – 18 kills, 22 digs, one block, 10 points, and three aces; Paige Slusser – 13 kills, 13 digs, two blocks, 13 points, and one ace; Ella Matusik – 51 assists, five kills, five digs, five points, and two aces; Karissa Gress – 12 kills, two blocks, nine points, and two aces; Hannah Maust – nine kills, 10 digs, one block, six points, and one ace; and Ashley Green – three kills, six digs, and six points.

Ridgewood then defeated Hiland at home by scores of: 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22.

Stats were: Ella Matusik – 35 assists, four kills, three digs, nine points, and five aces; Hannah Maust – 14 kills, 10 digs, one block, two points, and two aces; Paige Slusser – nine kills, 12 digs, 11 points and one ace; Madisyn Colvin – nine kills, 10 digs, one block, six points and one ace; Ashley Green – two kills, five digs, two blocks, three points and two aces; Karissa Gress – four kills, two blocks, one dig, three points and one ace; Kaelynn Robinson – 10 digs; and Lindsay Griffith – eight digs.

River View

 Junior high golf team falls to St. Clairsville

On Sept. 24 at Hickory Flats, River View’s junior high golf team fell to St Clairsville by one point, 173 to 172.

River View was led by: Colton Gress – 37 (medalist); Gavin Gress – 38; Caleb Kline – 47; Taylor Harstine – 51; Brynn Harstine – 58; Clark Frischen – 60; Makayla Gress – 61; Jake Miller – 71; Rylan Everhart – 74; and Espen Dovenbarger – 80.

 RVHS volleyball pics up 2 wins

River View Volleyball defeated Crooksville in three sets.

Leading the way for the Black Bears was: Cayla Shrimplin – 12 digs; Jordyn Aronhalt – eight digs; Ashley Newell – 12 kills; and Kayla Dulgar – 30 assists, six aces and nine digs.

River View then beat Coshocton in four sets, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 25-15.

In the Coshocton game River View was led by: Ashlyn Bible – 19 digs; Cayla Shrimplin – 25 digs; and Kayla Dulgar – 38 assists and 13 digs.

Lady Bears golf team places second

River View’s girls golf team placed second at the MVL Post Season Tournament at Vista Golf Course on Sept. 30. Their team score was 385.

Individual scores were: Paige Nicely – 86 (personal record and first team all-tourney); Madalyn Cutshall – 92 (first team all-tourney); Caily Shriver – 101; Chloey Geog – 106; Kiera McPeck – 121; and Emma Ward – 124.

Bahmer leads RVHS

River View battled Dover and Ridgewood on the golf course Sept. 29 at Hickory Flats.

Dover won, followed by Ridgewood and then River View.

River View was led by: Austin Bahmer – 46; Coen Bible – 52; Thad Cox – 55; and Josh Woolard – 56. Ridgewood was led by: Charlie Kilpatrick – 44; Benny Shuck – 50; Zach Ervin – 53; Braden Bookless – 57; and Cooper King – 60.

The Black Bears then fell to Meadowbrook on Sept. 30, at Hickory Flats.

Individual scores were: Austin Bahmer – 81; Coen Bible – 92; Thad Cox – 108; and Josh Woolard – 112.
