Suspect charged in arson case

On April 14 at approximately 11:46 p.m. the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to a possible arson in the 400 block of Elm Street. Dispatch advised that the caller was being followed on foot by the alleged suspect. Once contacting a male and female victim of the residence to ensure safety, deputies then went to the address of the incident.  The residence was not on fire upon arrival, as it had been extinguished shortly after the call to the Sheriff’s Office. Upon investigation, a Coshocton male was arrested and remains in the Coshocton County Justice Center under investigation at this time.

On April 16, Paul A. Orr, a 36-year-old male from the Coshocton area, was formally charged with aggravated arson, a felony of the second degree.

This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
