Kempf001COSHOCTON- Terry Gilbert Kempf, 73, of SR 83, died Monday May 27, 2013 at his son’s residence.

He was born Aug. 19, 1939 in Toledo to the late Gilbert Frederick and Ortha Fern (Dennis) Kempf. He served in the US Army from Nov. 1958 to Oct. 1960. He was one of the original start-up crew maintenance mechanics at the AEP Conesville Power Plant, where he worked for 41 years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and the V.F.W. Post #1330. He enjoyed genealogy and local history, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons; Sean D. (Kristine) Kempf, and Scott F. (Debbie) Kempf, a daughter, Kristine R. (Rowdy) Freeland, two grandsons; Joshua & Owen Kempf, and a granddaughter, Kirsten Kempf, all of Coshocton, a brother, Dennis L. Kempf of Grafton, three step-grandchildren, Scot & Khyla Dawson of Coshocton, and Kyle (Taressa) Freeland of Roseville, and a step-great-granddaughter, Taylor Freeland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Marilyn (Holdsworth) Kempf, and a brother, Douglas Scott Kempf, who was killed in action in South Vietnam in 1969.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday May 30, 2013 at the FISCHER FUNERAL HOME in Warsaw with Pastor Cal Searles officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Joint Veterans Council. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
