Two in custody charged with tampering with evidence

Reeves Trudy-E.-ReevesCOSHOCTON – On February 7th, 2017, Special Agents from the Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General contacted our Office in reference to a possible questioned death.  Deputies and Detectives from the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation regarding the disappearance and suspected death of a local elderly woman.

On February 8th, 2017, a search warrant was executed on a property in Jefferson Twp, Coshocton County, where remains of a human body were recovered.  The remains, believed to be of the missing woman, were transported to the Licking County Coroner’s Office for further examination and official identification.

At this time two adults, one male and one female, remain in custody at the Coshocton County Justice Center awaiting the filing of formal charges in reference to this incident.

On February 9th, 2017, Daniel L. Reeves, 48 years old and from the Warsaw area, and Trudy E. Reeves, 42 years old and also from the Warsaw area, were both charged with Tampering with Evidence, a Felony of the 3rd degree.  Additional charges are anticipated pending the outcome of this investigation.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office in this ongoing investigation are The Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General, The Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office, Coshocton County Coroner’s Office, BCI, Licking County Coroner’s Office, and William Alberts Excavating.
