Two taken into custody after pursuit

COSHOCTON – On Jan. 7, at approximately 9:14 a.m. the sheriff’s office had been on Commons Drive attempting to serve arrestable warrants on a Jared McMasters, 32, and Christopher Compton, 29, both from Coshocton.

Neither of the individuals were located at the residence. As deputies were leaving they noticed a blue Mazda fitting the description the two were reported to be driving. Deputies could see that the two occupants in the vehicle appeared to fit the description of McMasters and Compton. Deputies then attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, a short pursuit then occurred in the area. The vehicle struck a fence on Plum Street between Cemetery Drive and South Sixth Street. Both McMasters and Compton were taken into custody without further incident. Additional charges are pending against both subjects.

This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
