Statewide tornado drill postponed

COLUMBUS – The National Weather Service forecasts the incoming of a complex winter weather system that will impact the state of Ohio through possibly Wednesday, so the NWS and the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness will POSTPONE the Wednesday, March 4 Statewide Tornado Drill to Friday, March 6 at 9:50 am.

The NWS forecasts a wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain early Tuesday morning with a changeover to rain during the day, Tuesday, starting in southern Ohio, moving to northern Ohio.

Rain will change over to snow Tuesday night into Wednesday, with heavy snow possible Wednesday, with anywhere from 5 inches to 8 inches expected in counties bordering the Ohio River.

Low lying areas could be impacted by localized flooding along creeks and streams.
