13-year-old struck by car while riding bike

On June 2, 2020 at 4:27 p.m. the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls in reference to a juvenile being struck by a car while he was riding his bike. Upon arrival of deputies, the 13-year-old Coshocton male was alert and talking. The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old Elizabeth Lahmon of Coshocton was also still on scene.

After EMS arrived they stabilized the juvenile and transported him to the Coshocton County Regional Medical Center to wait for Medflight who then transported him to Akron Children’s Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

After the initial investigation by deputies it was determined that the juvenile was riding his bike, without a helmet, east bound through an alley and did not stop when he entered the roadway in the 600 block of South Eighth Street. The vehicle being operated by Lahmon was traveling South on South Eighth Street and was unable to stop in time, striking the juvenile. Lahmon was cited for driving under suspension.

Assisting deputies at the scene was Coshocton County EMS and Prince’s Wrecker Service. This accident remains under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
