3 vehicle accident occurs by the Dock

| March 31, 2021

On March 30, 2021 at 6:56 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a 911 call in reference to a possible three vehicle accident with injuries.

After deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the involved parties, it was determined that a 26-year-old Coshocton man, Bryant Miller, was driving a Dodge Ram truck south on CR 1A in front of the Dock, when he did not see the stopped vehicles in front of him in time and was unable to stop. Miller then struck the rear of a Ford Focus, being operated by a 56-year-old Coshocton man, David Phillips, who was attempting to turn into the Dock. After Phillips was struck, it pushed his vehicle forward, which caused him to strike the rear of a Ford Escape, being operated by a 26-year-old Conesville woman, Taylor Sampsel, who was also stopped to turn into the Dock.

Phillips was treated by EMS at the scene and was later transported to the Coshocton Regional Medical Center. Miller was at fault for the accident and received a citation for assured clear distance.

Assisting deputies at the scene was the Three Rivers Fire District, Coshocton County EMS, Prince’s Wrecker Service and Coshocton County REACT.
