The Area Agency on Aging Region 9, Inc. (AAA9), is currently offering free assistance to persons who need help applying for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) through April 30, 2013. For anyone interested in the program, needing assistance completing the application or understanding the eligibility guidelines, call Robin Boyer-Jackman at (800) 945-4250, ext. 4900. In-home assistance is also available to anyone who needs help with the HEAP application process and is unable to leave home in Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Muskingum and Tuscarawas Counties.

HEAP is a federally funded program administered by the Ohio Department of Development, Office of Community Service (OCS) and is designed to help eligible low-income Ohioans meet the high costs of home heating.  The total household income of an applicant must be at or below income guidelines.
