| February 18, 2021

On Feb. 18, 2021 at approximately 4:51 a.m. the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call in reference to an injury accident at the intersection of State Route 83 and County Road 429 in Franklin Township.

Once deputies arrived on scene, it was found that a 2013 Ford Fiesta was traveling east on County Road 429 when it went through the intersection of State Route 83, as the driver lost control of the vehicle striking an embankment.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as Gage L. Thomas (28) of Zanesville. Thomas was then transported to the Coshocton Regional Medical Center by emergency squad for the extent of his injuries.

Speed and alcohol are considered to be factors in this crash. One lane of State Route 83 was closed for a short time while Prince’s Wrecker loaded the vehicle, as traffic was able to pass the scene. This incident remains under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.

Assisting the sheriff’s office on scene were Coshocton County EMS, Conesville Fire Department, and Prince’s Wrecker Service.
