Accident without injuries reported on CR 9

On March 1, 2021 at 10:43 a.m., the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a possible accident in the 59000 block of CR.9.

Upon arrival of deputies, it was determined that 73-year-old Louise Claypool of Newcomerstown, was driving east bound on CR 9 and pulled off the left side of the roadway to get her mail. Peter Ross of Port Washington was traveling west bound on CR 9 and went left of center to go around the Claypool vehicle.

The Claypool vehicle did not see the Ross vehicle and struck the Ross vehicle on the passenger side. Neither driver was injured in the accident and Claypool was at fault.

Assisting deputies at the scene were Coshocton County EMS, West Lafayette Fire, West Lafayette Police Department, Newcomerstown Fire, Newcomerstown squad and Jim’s Towing.
