Apple Butter Stirrin’ takes you back in time

| October 15, 2019

COSHOCTON – Relive the old-time harvest celebrations at the Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival in Roscoe Village on Friday, Oct. 18 through Sunday, Oct. 20. This is a 49-year tradition of making homemade apple butter in large copper kettles over an open fire. Stroll down Whitewoman Street to visit all the vendors. The Canal Queens contest will be held at the main stage on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. and other entertainment will be performed on the main stage throughout the festival. The festival also includes homemade crafts and exhibits, demonstrations, and much more.

If you’re brave, stay for the lantern tours held on Friday and Saturday nights from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This is an eerie lamp lit tour through hallways and alleyways of Roscoe where some unexplained activity has reportedly occurred over the years. Don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of a former Roscoe resident from many years ago as some believe they have never left. Reservations are required, so please call 740-622-7644 ext. 12.
