Art encounter planned for homeschoolers
COSHOCTON – Home schooled families are invited to the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum Tuesday, Nov. 19 for a workshop on acrylic painting. Participants will begin by viewing the paintings in the museum’s special exhibit of watermedia works, Living Waters. This is the Southeast Ohio Watermedia Society’s annual juried exhibit. Students will be shown the differences between acrylics, watercolors, ink, temperas and collage.
In JHM’s classroom, participants will receive an introduction to acrylic painting. After practicing with the medium, participants will choose one of four available projects. These include painting a picture, decorating clear disc-shaped acrylic Christmas ornaments, creating greeting cards or decorating a glass flower vase.
Art Encounter for Homeschoolers: Introduction to Acrylic Painting runs from 1 to 3 p.m. Cost is $8. Advanced paid registration is required. Please tell us, too, which project your child selected. Last day to register is Friday, Nov. 15. Registration can be made by phone at 622-8710 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 1 to 4:30 p.m. on the weekends.
