Barbara J. Wesson

DOVER – Barbara Jane (Funk) Wesson, 87, a resident of Country Club Estates, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017 at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia.

She was born Dec. 16, 1929 in Newcomerstown to the late Elmer and Rosa (Guthrie) Funk. She was nursing home aide for many years. Her life was centered on her family and her grandchildren, whom she loved very much. She was a very loving, caring, and generous person, always willing to help those in need.

She is survived by a son, Dan (Beth) Wesson of Senecaville; two daughters, Rhonda (Rich) Vierheller of New Philadelphia, and Deborah Harris of Pinckney, MI; six grandchildren, Doug (Jamie) Wesson, Holly Dixon, Ryan (Kyle Anne) Vierheller, Carrie Harris, Cate (Casey) Bonner, and Claire (Lance) Clevenger; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ken Funk.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Funk, two sisters, Esther Adams and Alice Huntsman; and a son-in-law, Jim Harris.

A private burial will take place at Valley View Cemetery near Warsaw, with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements.
