On Jan. 14, 2022 at approximately 7:58 a.m. the sheriff’s office received a 911 call advising of a one vehicle accident with a bicyclist on SR 16 about .1 mile west of SR 83.

Upon arrival of deputies, it was determined that Kaleb Brock (19) of Coshocton was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane on his bicycle. Gabriel Howard (21) of Coshocton was traveling westbound on SR 16 in his 2014 Nissan. The Howard vehicle struck Brock and ejected him from his bicycle. Brock was not wearing a helmet and was riding his bicycle on the wrong side of the roadway. Brock was transported by Coshocton County EMS to Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

Brock’s condition is unknown at this time. Always remember when riding a bicycle on the roadway you must ride with the flow of traffic in the same direction. This accident remains under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
