Sams, BookerBooker T. Sams, 71, of Coshocton joined his Lord and Savior at 1:15 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus following a brief illness.

Born March 31, 1942 in Cochran, Georgia, he was the son of the late James and Willie Lee (Sams) Randall.

Before becoming disabled, Booker was a shooter for Peabody Coal Company.

A member of the S. C. of the House of Jacob, Booker loved to read his Bible and talk about the Lord. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.

He will truly be missed by his wife Letitia Mary (Bynum) Sams of Coshocton; two sons Douglas Sams and Tommy Sams-Glassco and daughter Bridgett Sams all of Florida; step-son Nathanael (Jennifer) Kelson of Newark; step-daughter Phyllis Kelson of Coshocton; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers James Randall and Leslie Randall both of Georgia; two sisters Simmie Randall of Georgia and Jeannette Peterson of Seattle, Washington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Booker was preceded in death by two daughters Sarah Michelle Sams and Alma Sams; grandparents Willie and Lee Sams; brother Willie “Butch” Randall; and sister Perry Lee Wilmore.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 31, 2013 at the Machpelah Cemetery with the Honorary Senior Bishop James Pearson officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Supreme Mother B.J. Hargrove Multi-purpose Building.
