BPW installs officers

COSHOCTON – Coshocton Business and Professional Women (BPW) met at Heritage Winery and Vineyard on June 17. Guests included Pat Greenfield from Evansville, Ind. and Wanda McCord from Henderson, Ky. Owner Tina Endsley provided wine samples.

State Foundation Chair Liz Herrell installed the 2013-2014 officers:  President Emily McBurney, Victim’s Advocate for the Prosecutor’s Office; Vice President Amanda Chaney, Sears Roebuck & Company; Treasurer Yolanda Sharier, PNC Bank; Recording Secretary Marilyn Lauvray, Marilyn’s Natural Foods; and Corresponding Secretary Doris Parkhill, JII retiree.

President McBurney had members take a women’s suffrage quiz and then discussed the correct answers.

Upcoming activities include: WPEA Conference Sunday and Monday, July 28-29 in Pittsburgh, Pa. and an Individual Development (ID) Course on Fridays, Aug. 16 and 23, at Zane State College in Cambridge.

Tomma Bordenkircher gave an update on the 80th anniversary celebration scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at Frontier Power.  She also discussed possible fall fundraisers and $47 was collected for First Step.

The next meeting will be a social picnic at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, location TBA.

I graduated from Coshocton High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2002 from Walsh University.
