Celebrate Giving Tuesday with United Way

| November 16, 2022

For the second year in a row, the United Way of Coshocton and the Coshocton Foundation are pairing up to raise funds for Coshocton through a match on Giving Tuesday.

Up to $5,000 will be matched for donations coming into the United Way of Coshocton either through their website, www.coshoctonunitedway.org or a donation brought into the office (402 Main St.) on that day, and that day only.

Last year $2,600 turned into $5,200 through the generosity of donors and the Coshocton Foundation.

Coinciding with the Thanksgiving Holiday, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday will inspire people to take a collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to charities and causes they support and help create a better world.

Taking place Nov. 29, the Tuesday after Thanksgving – GivingTuesday aims to harness the power of social media to create a national movement around the holidays to giving, similar to how Black Friday and Cyber Monday have become days that are synonymous with holiday shopping.

“GivingTuesday reminds us that the spirit of the holiday giving season should be about community and not consumerism,” said Lyn Mizer, director of the United Way of Coshocton.  “We can give time, talents and resources in a way that makes an impact on not only ourselves, but our families, our neighbors and our county. We are so very grateful to the Coshocton Foundation for making the match because working together we can accomplish so much more.”
