Central Elementary mural to be moved
COSHOCTON – The big move to the new Coshocton Elementary is coming up. Wednesday, Oct. 2, is the big day in more ways than one.
Reece Campbell, the company building the new elementary, has been working closely with the Pomerene Center, and Coshocton City Schools to make sure everything is set to move the mural from Central.
The Pomerene Center also has been raising funds to bring a conservator down from the InterMuseum Conservation Association (IMCA) to structure a plan for preserving five murals in the city for the term. Through much planning and cooperation, everything fell into place just right and the conservator will be here in time to oversee the move. The Pomerene Center is still excepting donations for the conservation project.
Students from Central, Lincoln and South Lawn will be moving into the new building Friday, Oct 4. The mural will be there to greet them.
Also the Pomerene Center will be in the art hall at the fair Wednesday, Oct. 2, and Thursday, Oct. 3, making new murals for the town with anyone who would like to stop by.
