Charles West PictureCOSHOCTON – Charles Edward “Eddie” West, 76, of Coshocton passed away at his residence on Friday January 22, 2016. Charles was born in Coshocton on December 19, 1939 to the late Gail and Irene (Bader) West. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School, had worked for ten years at the local A&P Grocery Store, and retired from General Electric in Coshocton after thirty-five years. Charles also retired after twenty-two years of service in the Army National Guard 214th Transportation Unit, he was very proud to have served in the National Guard. He loved playing golf with his weekly buddies Dan, Jim and Bob. He was an avid reader, fan of NASCAR and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Charles loved his two dogs Sammy and Scarlett who were a comfort to him. Charles is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of fifty-five years Sharon (Chubb) West whom he married January 7, 1961; daughters Jody (Jeff) Bowman of Coshocton and Lori Shroyer of Baltic; grandchildren Matthew Shroyer, Steven Shroyer, Mandy (Shane) Rich and Katie (Kyle) Tumblin; special nephew Mark West and Charles’s “2nd Mom” Kathleen Brelsford. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Rodney West. Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Monday January 25, 2016 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 805 Main St., Coshocton at 11:30 AM with Father Victor Wesolowski officiating. Interment will follow in South Lawn Cemetery where Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to Coshocton County Animal Shelter and/or Health Services of Coshocton County “Hospice”, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
