Churches to unite for Ash Wednesday service

| February 25, 2019

COSHOCTON – Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the Presbyterian Church will unite in worship on March 6 for Ash Wednesday worship. The service will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1500 Pleasant Valley Drive, at 7 p.m.

Some years ago, the two congregations shared leadership of summer day camps at the local scout camp and later at Lake Park. In October 2017, the two churches gathered at The Presbyterian Church to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.

Worship will include scripture, communion, the imposition of ashes, congregational hymns, and a choral anthem. The service will be led by the Reverend Bryan Kittner and the Reverend Karen Crawford. Musical leadership will be led by the Presbyterian Chancel Choir under the direction of Charles R. Snyder and organist, Mark D. Wagner.

All are invited to share in this worship celebration.
