Coshocton Community Band to perform at July 4 celebrations

community band COSHOCTON – Coshocton County Community Band will be performing at the July 4 celebration at the Coshocton County Airport Amphitheater at 5:30 p.m. Most of the concert will be patriotic-themed pieces.

The band is pleased to host a guest conductor/director for two of the musical pieces, both written by John Philip Sousa: Semper Fidelis March and America’s official march, The Stars and Stripes Forever.

This guest conductor is Chief Warrant Officer 5 Mike Edmonson, who is stationed at the Pentagon and is tasked with overseeing the entire Marine Corp Field Bands. He has directed Marine Corp Bands at Parris Island’s Recruit Depot and at the Logistics Depot in Albany, Georgia, the First Marine Division Band at Camp Pendleton, the First Marine Division Band as it served in Iraq.

He has served for 29 years in the Marine Corps of the United States of America. He hails from Seattle Washington and is married to his wife Chrisanne, who will accompany him this weekend. They have two daughters Amanda and Britney and enjoy the company of one grandson.

After performing with the Coshocton County Community Band on July 4, Chief Warrant Officer Edmonson will also be performing with the Dominic Greco Band at Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia on Sunday July 5 at 6:30 p.m.
