Eighth graders receive library cards

| September 22, 2015

004Jennifer Ricketts of the West Lafayette Branch Library explains to a class of eighth graders at Ridgewood High School how to download e-books onto their mobile device or tablet on Tuesday, Sept. 22. For the third consecutive year, library cards were distributed to students at no cost and their accounts at the library and online had previously been set up. Approximately 90 cards were distributed and more than 90 percent of the eighth grade class participated in the program. Students can now go online and download e-books, choosing from more than 66,000 titles. This program is more important than ever because the school no longer has an in-house library.
