| August 9, 2017

COSHOCTON – The Coshocton Footlight Players have announced the 2017-2018 season and have opened the season membership sales.

In addition to the season line-up, the board of directors has announced some new features to the season. According to Board President Sheila Mayse, “We are excited to be able to open up the entire season for purchase to members on Aug. 28-31, either online or by phone. We feel this really adds an additional value in addition to the cost savings offered through the membership option. Following the members only week, online ticket sales for the entire season will be open to the general public on Sept. 1. We will continue to have our box office phone sales open the week before each show but hope the online anytime option gives patrons a greater flexibility in scheduling their attendance and provides a convenience that was previously unavailable.”

Also new to this season is the addition of a scheduled Sunday matinee for each performance.

The season kicks off with “Drinking Habits,” directed by Jon Cotterman. In this traditional, laugh-out-loud Tom Smith farce, accusations, mistaken identities, and romances run wild.

Auditions for “Drinking Habits” will be held at the Triple Locks Theater on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 2 pm and Monday, Aug. 21 at 7 pm. Roles are available for five women and three men.

Performance dates for “Drinking Habits” are Oct. 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21 at 8 p.m. and Oct. 15 at 2 p.m.

Next in the line-up is “The Game’s Afoot,” directed by Mark Kittel. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit, set during the Christmas holidays.

Auditions for “The Game’s Afoot” will be held on Friday, Sept. 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Triple Locks Theater. Roles are available for three men, ages 20-60, and five women, ages 20-70.

Performance dates for “The Game’s Afoot” are Dec. 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.

The third production of the season, “The Savannah Sipping Society,” directed by Nathan Mayse, is a delightful, laugh-a-minute comedy, featuring four unique southern women brought together by fate and an impromptu happy hour.

Auditions will be held for “The Savannah Sipping Society” on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018 at 2 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Triple Locks Theater. Roles are available for four women.

Performance dates for “The Savannah Sipping Society” are March 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17 at 8 p.m. and March 11 at 2 p.m.

The final show of the season, directed by Susan Metz Guthrie, is the beautiful and emotionally provocative musical, “The Bridges of Madison County.”

Auditions for “The Bridges of Madison County” are scheduled for Sunday, Jan.14, 2018 at 2 p.m. at the Triple Locks Theater. Roles are available for four men and four women (with some parts doubling). Additional chorus members may be added.

Performance dates for “The Bridges of Madison County” are May 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19 at 8 p.m. and May 13 at 2 p.m.
