David L. Shepler

David L. Shepler, 68, of Temple, Texas, formerly of Coshocton, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

David was born in Coshocton on August 20, 1953, to the late Harvey and Dorothy (Stover) Shepler.

He graduated from River View High School, in the class of 1971.  David received his associates degree from Muskingum Technical College in 1973 in electrical engineering and his bachelor’s degree in business from Malone College in 1991.

He worked at AEP Conesville in the lab for forty-two years.  David was also involved in oil and gas leasing, was an independent tax advisor and was currently a real estate agent and appraiser for TARA Land Company in Temple, Texas.

David was a 4-H advisor for thirty-five years, a River View School Board member for eight years, was active with the River View Music Boosters and was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church where he served on a variety of committees.

He is survived by his children Jay (Ashley) Shepler of Coshocton, Kyle Shepler of Cleveland and Kim (Adam) Fortney of Willowick, OH; grandchildren Sam Shepler, Ashton Fries, Nicholas Shepler, Jesslyn Fortney and Kaylee Fortney; sister Lisa (Jim) Crawford of Coshocton and a brother Greg Shepler of London, OH.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM where a memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM with Pastor Ryan Hill officiating.  Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
