Deer vehicle accident reported on US 36

On March 9, 2021 at approximately 11:35 p.m. the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a one vehicle injury accident on US 36 in Lafayette Township.

Upon arrival of deputies it was determined that Lori Wegener, 26-years-old, of Coshocton was traveling east on US 36 near SR 93 in a 2012 Mazda 3. Wegener stated that several deer ran out onto the roadway in front of her vehicle, causing her to strike them. Due to the collision, the airbags deployed in the vehicle causing minor injuries to Wegener. Wegener was treated at the scene by Coshocton County EMS and released.

Assisting the sheriff’s office on scene were Coshocton County EMS, West Lafayette Fire Department, and Prince’s Wrecker Service.
